Privacy Policy

Summary

Overframe is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. It does not collect, transmit or sell personal data. There are no user accounts, no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporting service and no cloud sync.

1. Data we store locally

Settings, profiles, collections, browsing history and cookies created by your browsing activity are written to a local file on your machine (typically %APPDATA%/overframe/). This data never leaves your computer and can be deleted at any time by removing that folder or uninstalling the app.

2. Network requests we make

Overframe makes the following outbound connections:

  • The websites you choose to visit through the overlay browser.
  • A favicon service to fetch site icons (www.google.com/s2/favicons).
  • An update check via update.electronjs.org (proxies the GitHub repository releases). Only triggered manually or on launch.
  • Share feature only: when you export a collection as a short code, the collection data is sent to share.overframe.app and stored there until deleted. This is entirely user-initiated. To request deletion of shared data, email contact@overframe.app with the share code.

No other connection is made to Overframe-controlled infrastructure. There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no background reporting.

3. This website (overframe.app)

The marketing website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or third-party analytics. Standard server access logs are retained by Cloudflare (our hosting provider) for security and abuse prevention; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

4. Children

Overframe is not directed at children under 15. We do not knowingly collect data from any user, regardless of age.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Overframe stores no personal data on its servers. Uninstalling the application removes all locally-held data. If you have used the Share feature, collection data may remain on share.overframe.app; to request deletion, email contact@overframe.app with the share code. We will process your request within 30 days.

6. Changes

If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
